Letter from President

Dear all

Welcome to 2019, I trust you had a safe and enjoyable holiday period.

We have several important pieces of news for members and friends of the Banyule Toy Library and so, as president, I wanted to write to you personally.

After a decade as the heartbeat of the Toy Library, Jacqui has accepted an exciting full-time role and will be leaving us on 9 February. As you can appreciate this will be a big loss. We ask for your support and patience while we set up our operations to move forward.

New session times
We open again on 29 January. From February 9, until at least the end of March, (and we have our new coordinator on board and up to speed) we will be running two sessions per week:

Monday 7.30 – 8.45pm
Saturday 9.30 – 11am (yes, every Saturday)

At the AGM last year, we agreed to increase our fees slightly after a number of years:

With duties $70, concession $35
No duties $140, concession $70

Given the reduced number of sessions, we have decided NOT to implement these until we are running normally again.

New Toy Library Coordinator position
If you know anyone who would be interested in helping Toy Library administration and keeping the smiles on kid’s faces then please let me know. More info on the job is here and the role would also be suited to a retiree looking to support the local community.

Bunnings BBQ – 11 March
We will be running the sausage sizzle at Northland Bunnings on 11 March, so don’t forget to come down and say hi. There are a few volunteer spots left on the roster – contact banyuletoylibrary@gmail.com

If you have any questions about any of this, or you would like to offer some assistance, then please contact me.

Have a great day and may your kids enjoy the toys all year!

President, Banyule Toy Library
